VIEW CERTIFICATEWhat our students are saying about Queen's Professional Studies
The Structural Editing and Copyediting Standards 2 courses opened my eyes and provided me with great insights into the editing field. I just need more money to enrol for the remaining courses so I can attain the professional certificate. The method of teaching and how we engaged are just great! Instructor feedback was phenomenal as it helped me hone my skills and steer me in the right direction.
I earned a post-graduate certificate in teaching and learning, and I am very appreciative to all my instructors for their tireless support. Additionally, their feedback was both positive and constructive. The courses were informative and thorough and left me wanting more. The assignments and content were outstanding and furnished me with technological, research, and teaching skills. I learned a lot and I am looking forward to taking more classes.
The Copyediting Standards course was well paced, interactive, and highly informative! The copyediting tips and techniques I learnt have contributed immensely to my writing and editing abilities.
Prior to taking Copyediting Standards and Copyediting Standards 2, I was self-employed as a freelance copyeditor; however, I limited myself to assignments and projects that I felt comfortable with. I backed away from documents that contained complex tables, charts, and/or multimedia content. The engaging and well-structured courses not only provided me with the confidence, knowledge, and certification to go beyond my comfort zone, but one of the greater benefits I acquired was an understanding of how to best communicate with clients regarding the scope of their projects and precisely how I can meet their needs. Thanks, Queen’s!
