PROS253: Supporting Literacy and Numeracy Development in the Early Years

This short, self-guided course is designed for early childhood educators in childcare and kindergarten settings. Its focus is the development of literacy and numeracy skills in early learners and explores strategies for supporting a classroom environment that embeds literacy and numeracy in its routines.

In this course, learners will become more familiar with how children learn and to recognize literacy and numeracy skills in early learners. They’ll have opportunities to problem-solve through scenarios and to demonstrate their understanding of play-based learning, including child-directed guided play.
